WICHITA FALLS, Texas — No one won the big jackpot in Friday night’s Mega Millions, but someone who bought a ticket in Texas has two million reasons to smile.

That’s because a ticket worth $2 million was sold in far North Texas. The ticket, which was bought in a convenience store in Wichita Falls, matched five numbers, but missed the Mega Ball. That made it worth $1 million. The ticket had the 2x multiplier, which doubled the amount to $2 million.

The winning numbers for Friday’s Mega Millions drawing were 2, 22, 33,42, and 67 with a Mega Ball of 1.

No one won the big $230 million jackpot, so that now rolls over and is with an estimated $250 million for Tuesday’s drawing.

Odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290 million.

Gambling addictions

Sometimes gambling can become addictive.

The National Council on Problem Gambling defines problem gambling as “gambling behavior that is damaging to a person or their family, often disrupting their daily life and career.”

It is sometimes called gambling addiction or gambling disorder, a recognized mental health diagnosis. The group says anyone who gambles can be at risk.

Its National Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-522-4700, connects anyone seeking assistance with a gambling problem to local resources.
