Many people will have the day off Monday, January 16, 2023, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, making it the perfect time to catch up on errands, appointments, or that “I’ll do it later” to-do list.

Before you head out, though, it’s a good idea to double-check what’s actually open. Several city offices, schools, and services will be closed for the federal holiday, while others will continue operating as usual.

MLK Day honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a pivotal leader in the Civil Rights Movement whose work continues to inspire progress, service, and equality.
