Thousands expected to take part in San Antonio’s 39th Annual MLK March

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) —  Thousands are expected to attend San Antonio’s 39th annual MLK March and Celebration on Monday.

It has been said the Alamo City’s event is the largest of its kind across the United States.

The March begins at 10 a.m. at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, located on Martin Luther King Drive. The march will cover close to 3 miles along MLK Drive through San Antonio’s East Side. As the march is going on, no vehicles will be allowed along the route.

A celebration is planned at Pittman-Sullivan Park on Iowa Street at the conclusion of the March.
