Rockwall, TX (January 19, 2026) – The Rockwall County Republican Party will host candidates for the new U.S. Congressional District 32 and other races at the Friday Night Forum on Friday, January 23, 6:00p.m., at the Rockwall County Courthouse, 1111 E. Yellowjacket Lane, Rockwall.
Along with the CD32 race, candidates for Texas Senate District 2 and State Board of Education will be part of the line-up that night to bring their campaigns to the voters. In addition to Rockwall County, the map for the redrawn Congressional District 32 includes all or part of these counties-Dallas, Collin, Hunt, Rains, Wood, Upshur, and Camp. Candidates for CD32 include Aimee Carrasco, Abteen Vaziri, Darrell Day, Gordon Heslop, Jace Yarbrough, James Ussery, Monty Montanez, Paul Bondar, and Ryan Binkley. There is no incumbent in this very important race to elect the next Congressman for Rockwall County.
Texas State Senator Bob Hall is facing opponent Jason Eddington for Senate District 2. Senator Hall has served the district since 2015, continually ranked as one of the most conservative legislators in Austin.
Rockwall County is currently represented on the Texas State Board of Education in District 9 by Kevin Ellis from Lufkin, who is not seeking re-election. Kason Huddleston of Rockwall is running for that seat with two other candidates – Rachel Hogue of Mineola and Stephen Yearout of Garland. The State Board of Education sets curriculum standards, reviews and adopts instructional materials and oversees the Texas Permanent School Fund for public schools.
“With all these very significant races on the ballot in March, voters should take the opportunity to come out for this free event and hear directly from candidates about their visions for the jobs they seek,” said Rockwall County GOP Chair Sharon Henson. “Our job as the party is to educate the voters and get them out to vote for the best Republican candidates. It’s exciting to see the real hunger from voters to get information on the candidates in this mid-tern election year.”
Forums are free to the public and there is no pre-registration required. Candidates will be available to meet with voters after the program.
