EL PASO (KVIA) — An El Paso family is demanding answers after they say they were denied access to an adult care home as their mother was dying — leaving them without the chance to say goodbye or pray with her during her final moments.

The Bajala family says they rushed to Golden Angels Adult Care Home after learning their mother’s condition had worsened. But when they arrived, they claim staff would not allow family members — or a priest — inside the facility.

Family members say they repeatedly asked to be let in, explaining their mother was near the end of her life. They say those requests were denied, and they were left waiting outside without clear information about her condition.

ABC-7 has reached out to Golden Angels Adult Care Home and state regulators.
