HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Saturday morning was a series of dangerous, tragic, and deadly crashes spread across Harris County.
The first incident happened a few minutes after 12:30 a.m. in downtown Houston near Travis and McKinney. Houston police said a woman got out of her car when she thought she recognized someone in an altercation. Law enforcement said one of the people fighting got into her car, which still had her 12-year-old child inside.
The child was able to get out before the police said the man sped off in the stolen vehicle and hit two other drivers. The driver of a Kia was killed, and the driver of a Toyota was taken to the hospital.

About an hour later in north Harris County, the sheriff’s office said a wrong-way driver caused a fiery crash after hitting another driver head-on, along the Tomball Parkway.
