According to Sheriff Tom Selman, the investigation indicted that Darryl Mask was selling fentanyl pills. Purchases of fentanyl were made from Darryl Mask in Lufkin in Lufkin and in one controlled purchase, Selman said that Mask told the buyer to meet him in the Lufkin Middle School parking lot while school was in session.

After warrants were issued on January 13, Darryl Mask was arrested at apartments off Daniel McCall Drive.
When he was approached by deputies while in his vehicle, he was found to be armed with a Taurus .40 caliber pistol. During his arrest, K2 and cocaine were also found in his vehicle, Selman said. Since Mask is a convicted felon, an unlawful possession of a firearm charge was filed in addition to the drug charges.
Also as a result of this investigation, evidence was found that pointed to a fentanyl pill manufacturing operation in Houston County, Selman said. Adriyel Demille Mask was identified as the suspect in the operation. A search warrant was issued for the Mask hope, which is located between Ratcliff and Kennard, off County Road 4700.
Houston County Sheriff Zak Benge was notified about the warrant, and his deputies set up surveillance of the Mask property while Angelina County was getting the search warrant. While they were watching the place, they say Adriyel Mask left the home in a Dodge Charger. The Houston County deputies pulled him over.
Located in Adriyel Mask’s car, according to Sheriff Selman, was a large quantity of methamphetamine, as well as a .44 magnum revolver. He was taken into custody.
Angelina County and Houston County deputies executed the search warrant on the Mask residence. Selman said officers found an operational commercial-grade pill press, boxes of precursor and raw material, die sets to form fentanyl pills, scales, contaminated plastic ware for mixing, a pill tumbler, completed fentanyl pills, marijuana, MDMA, meth, crack cocaine, liquid PCP, and a 9mm pistol reported stolen from Houston.

Selman noted that it appears that a large amount of the fentanyl being illegally sold in the Angelina and Houston county areas was coming from the Mask manufacturing operation.
A Hazardous Material disposal unit from Houston was sent to the scene to secure and make safe all the evidence that was gathered during the operation.
Darryl Mask has charges carrying $57,500.00 in bonds and Adriyel Mask has bonds totaling over $500,000.00. Both are currently in the Angelina County Jail.
