As the spring slate comes underway, UTA sports are preparing for a week of competition.

Here is the schedule from Tuesday to Jan. 26.

Wheelchair basketball

The Movin’ Mavs and Lady Movin’ Mavs begin the spring semester with a home tournament Friday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The tournament will continue from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Saturday, with all games being played at the Maverick Activities Center and the Physical Education Building.

Men’s basketball

After an 86-74 loss to Utah Valley University on Saturday, the men’s basketball team is set to face Tarleton State University at 7 p.m Wednesday at College Park Center. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+.

Women’s basketball

After the slow start to Western Athletic Conference play, the women’s team has gone on a two-game winning streak, beating Utah Tech University and Utah Valley at home.

The team looks to carry this momentum into its matchup against Tarleton State, which will tip off at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the EECU Center in Stephenville, Texas.

Women’s tennis

The women’s tennis team is set to open up its spring slate this week with a three-game home stretch at the UTA Tennis Center.

The season opener is against the University of Houston at 2 p.m. Thursday. The team will then face the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley at 11 a.m. Saturday, before closing out this stretch against Elon University at 10 a.m. Monday.

Men’s tennis

The men’s tennis team opened its spring season on the road, where it faced Texas A&M University, losing 7-0 Saturday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

The team looks to bounce back against Oklahoma State University at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
