In northeast Houston, a late-night fire severely damaged a house, but all residents escaped unharmed. Investigators now seek the cause of the intense fire.
HOUSTON — Firefighters spent hours battling a devastating overnight house fire in northeast Houston, leaving a single-family home heavily damaged.
Crews were still on scene early Tuesday after flames broke out around 2:30 a.m. at a home on the corner of Castleton Street and Briarwick Lane. By the time firefighters cleared the scene, they had spent nearly four hours working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes.
Dozens of firefighters responded as crews worked through the early morning hours to knock down the flames. Officials say everyone inside the home was able to get out safely before firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported among the residents or firefighters.
Investigators with the Houston Fire Department arson division are now working to determine what sparked the fire.
