The Allen Heritage Guild is celebrating 30 years of preserving the city’s history, according to the organization’s website.
The organization was founded in 1996 by the seventh Leadership Allen class. Individuals can visit the organization’s Allen Depot Museum, which features rotating exhibits, every second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., per its website.
The Allen Heritage Guild also hosts open houses at the Allen Heritage Village, which includes some of the city’s oldest remaining homes, outbuildings and churches.
President Paula Ross said the nonprofit organization is made up entirely of volunteers.
“I think it’s something the city is all very proud of,” Ross said. “It’s the culmination of an awful lot of hard work.”
