  • October 21, 2025

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – While the Texas Tech Red Raiders are obviously disappointed from their first loss of the season against Arizona State on Saturday, the game was still a major victory for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest- especially with four sacks.

Sacks vs. ASU listed below

1Q, 8:35 & 7:49, OLB David Bailey, who already entered the game as the nation’s sack leader, registered back-to-back sacks on QB Sam Leavitt. The first caused a loss of four yards to the ASU 45, the latter set the Sun Devils back 8 yards on the ASU 373Q, 11:15, OLB Romello Height and DL Anthony Holmes, Jr. combined for a sack, which resulted in an eight-yard loss at the TTU 164Q, 3:00, DL Lee Hunter made a third-down sack, an eight-yard loss marked at the ASU 19

How you can help

For more than a quarter century, Texas Tech Athletics has partnered with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest. Every sack leads to more money raised.

There is still time for you to donate this season. Click here – for the Quarterback S.A.C.K. website. Fans can pledge to donate any dollar amount for every sack made by Texas Tech defense during the football season.

All proceeds help to give back to those families who need it most.

The Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock provides families with a home away from home when they have a child receiving medical care. Families who stay at the House may have a newborn staying in the NICU, a child receiving cancer treatments, or needing any other medical care. Families within our local children’s hospitals, Covenant Children’s and UMC Children’s, are also able to take a break and grab a snack at our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms inside the hospitals. These rooms offer respite and comfort as well as access to basic necessities like showers, laundry, coffee, snacks, and more.
