LUBBOCK, Texas (January 20, 2026) – The Lubbock Christian University Athletic Department continued its academic excellence during the 2025 Fall semester, marking its 27th consecutive semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher-every semester since LCU began its transition to NCAA Division II in 2012-13. The Lone Star Conference recognized LCU with a conference-leading 91 student-athletes holding a perfect 4.0 GPA, as LCU produced 210 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipients.

LCU student-athletes posted a combined 3.43 GPA in the Spring semester, with 290 posting at least a 3.0 GPA. The GPA was a jump from a 3.41 GPA in the Fall semester of 2024, and a jump from 262 student-athletes holding at least a 3.0 GPA from the Spring 2025 semester. Among them, 100 achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, with the LSC recognizing 91 recipients (programs that compete in the LSC). The Lone Star Conference honored 210 LCU student-athletes on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

The LCU men’s tennis program led all LCU programs in the Fall 2025 semester with a 3.77 GPA. Men’s soccer led LCU with 26 student-athletes claiming Commissioner’s Honor Roll accolades. The women’s soccer program led the women’s programs with 23 honor roll selections, leading all programs with 11 student-athletes holding a 4.0 GPA. Volleyball, who has 17 student-athletes claiming honor roll honors, and Women’s basketball tied for the best team GPA of LCU’s women’s programs, as each have a 3.75.

All of LCU’s 14 programs (cross country, indoor and outdoor track are combined into one sport per gender, and women’s competitive cheer is also included despite it not being a NCAA sport), had at least a 3.0 team GPA for a second straight semester as a department sponsoring 14 programs (LCU had included esports into the mix several years ago). Five LCU programs had at least a 3.50 team GPA.
