AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are searching for a man suspected of stealing several bottles of liquor from a store in the Mueller neighborhood earlier this month.

The theft occurred around 7:06 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Twin Liquors, 1801 E. 51st St., according to a police statement released Monday. The suspect placed multiple liquor bottles in a shopping cart and left the store without paying, police said.

Authorities described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 40s, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He has black hair with a connected mustache and goatee and may have a chest tattoo reading “LINDA” or a similar name.

The man was last seen wearing a black tank top, camouflage shorts, sandals and a tan hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. Rewards of up to $1,000 are available for information leading to an arrest.
