A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the New Year’s shooting that killed Dallas rapper Zeethewizard and injured four other people, Dallas police said in a statement Tuesday.
Dameian Roberson was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and faces a murder charge. As of Tuesday night, he remained in the Dallas County jail with no bail amount set, according to jail records.
It remains unclear whether Roberson has an attorney.
Zec’Qurie Cannon Grant Fields, known musically as Zeethewizard, was critically injured shortly before 4 a.m. on Jan. 1 when gunfire erupted at Pink House Dallas, an after-hours strip club near Empire Central and North Stemmons Freeway.
New Year’s Eve marked the club’s grand opening, according to advertisements shared on social media. Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the club’s parking lot.

Fields died on Jan. 5 at a hospital, according to Dallas police. Four others, who have not been publicly identified by authorities, were wounded.
Fields, who was from Dallas, most recently lived in west Oak Cliff, public records show. He began his music career after an injury dashed his sports ambitions.
Police have not shared additional information, including potential motives for the shooting. Officials have also not provided an update on the condition of the other victims who were injured during the incident.
Officials continue to actively investigate the incident.
