The city of Georgetown has several intersection upgrades ongoing and planned, including constructing new traffic signals as well as upgrading current ones.
What to expect
The city, in conjunction with partners such as the Texas Department of Transportation and Georgetown ISD, will construct new traffic signals at the following intersections:

In addition to constructing new signals, the city is taking on a traffic signal upgrade project utilizing $2.5 million approved in the most recent budget.The
Georgetown Public Works Department maintains 82 traffic signals, 47 of which were acquired from TxDOT in 2023. The project will ensure all traffic signals have upgraded controllers, battery backups and detection technology.
“Many of the TxDOT signals require significant upgrades to meet city standards,” Public Works Director Eric Johnson said.
