The Flour Bluff girls used a big third quarter to pull away from Veterans Memorial 59-39. The Hornets improved to 10-1 in District 29-5A, good for first place in the standings with two wins over the Eagles, who dropped to 9-2.
The Hornets boys got out to a hot start at 16-2 begore having to hold off a big Eagles rally. Flour Bluff would hold off Vets 51-49 to earn a season split with the Eagles. The Hornets improved to 8-1 in district while Vets drops to third place at 7-2.
The Ray Texans had the night off and are 7-1 in district, a half game behind Flour Bluff. Â
