Texas A&M (15-4, 5-1 SEC) is playing its best basketball at the perfect time, as the Aggies headed back to Reed Arena to host Mississippi State (10-9, 2-4 SEC) on Wednesday night, fresh off last weekend’s 74-70 road win over the Texas Longhorns, looking to build another winning streak in SEC play.
Throughout the season, the Aggies have been led by senior forward Rashaun Agee, who has slowly but surely become one of the top playmakers in the conference and has continued his impressive season, posting season highs, including his ninth double-double against the Bulldogs with 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in another dominant showing from the USC transfer.

Texas A&M was the better team on Wednesday despite losing the rebounding battle 39-37, but shot an incredible 96% from the free throw line (23-24), forced 13 turnovers, and locked down Mississippi State star guard Josh Hubbard to a season-low 12 points, while the Aggies’ three turnovers were all in the first-half, resulting in a blowout 88-68 win.
Throughout SEC play, the Aggies have played team basketball, which was replicated on Wednesday, as four players produced double-digit scoring efforts, shooting 41% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc, knocking down 9 3-pointers, which, humorously enough, was an off night for the offense.
This team is on a mission and has proven its ability to compete with any team in the country, which will serve them well heading into the toughest stretch of the schedule next month.
Before hosting South Carolina on Saturday afternoon, here are the best reactions from Aggie fans and beat writers from Texas A&M’s 20-point win over Mississippi State.
