EL PASO, Tx., January 22, 2026: Campaign finance reports were due last Thursday. On Monday, El Paso Herald Post looked at the campaign finance reports for the county judge race. Yesterday we reported on county judge candidate Minerva Torres Shelton’s late filing. Today we look at the campaign financing for the candidates running for county commissioner precinct 4.
There are two candidates running in the Democratic primary. The incumbent, Sergio Coronado, is being challenged by Annette Griego for the Democratic ticket. Leonard Arcos does not have an opponent in the Republican ticket ensuring that he will be on the November ballot as the Republican running against either Coronado or Griego on the Democratic side.
Coronado reported $10,177 in campaign contributions and reported spending $9,152.83. Coronado has $32,880.02 left in his campaign chest. Stanley Jobe is Coronado’s largest contributor.
Jobe was part of an El Paso family bank fraud ring in the mid-1990’s. Jobe’s father and Stanley Jobe, along with two bank officials, were convicted on July 1, 1994. Stanley Jobe was pardoned by Bill Clinton in January 2001.
Coronado’s opponent, Griego, reported raising $250 and spending $1,250. Griego listed $250 left in her campaign account, but she also shows a personal loan of $25,000 made to her campaign.
On the Republican side is Arcos. He reported raising $1,975 and spending $1,289.93 in his report. Arcos reported $685,07 left in campaign funds.
According to the latest financial reports, Coronado leads in expenses and his remaining war chest of $32,880.02 is the largest. Griego has an estimated campaign war chest of $25,250 including the loan she reported in her last filing.
Early voting begins on February 17. Election Day is March 3.
Editor’s note: we could not find a picture of Leonard Arcos to include in today’s article.
