The shooting happened on Sunday just before 11 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO – A 59-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot in the head after an altercation at a West Side bar, according to San Antonio police.

Arriving officers located the man outside of his SUV just before 11 p.m. in the 400 block of Historic Old Highway 90.

The victim was believed to have gotten into an argument with a man inside a nearby bar. After leaving, the man grabbed a gun from his vehicle and shot the victim, who was sitting in his SUV, an SAPD preliminary report said.

The suspect fled from the scene and has not been found, SAPD said.

Police previously said a woman accompanied the shooter; however, the report does not indicate this information.

The victim was unresponsive as he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, SAPD said.

Detectives are investigating the shooting.
