Early voting is underway across El Paso.
Voters across the county are weighing in on a slew of races, including the Socorro and Tornillo Independent School District boards, a mayoral election in Vinton and municipal races in Socorro and Clint, as well as 17 statewide propositions.

The early voting period runs from Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 31.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Important voter information
Following is a breakdown of important voting information, including how to register to vote or cast a mail-in ballot and what forms of identification are needed to cast a ballot:
Register to vote: The date to register for the Nov. 4 election has already passed.
Vote by mail: To vote by mail, a person must be over 65, disabled, expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after an election, out of the country during early voting and Election Day or confined to jail or involuntary civil commitment. To apply for a mail-in ballot, print an application, fill it out and return it to the El Paso County Elections Department by mail at the Early Voting Clerk, 500 E. San Antonio Ave., Suite #314, El Paso, Texas 79901, by fax at 915-546-2220 or via email at ballotrequest@epcounty.com. If using fax or email, the original application must be mailed within four days.
Identification: Acceptable forms of identification include a Texas driver’s license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety; Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS; Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS; Texas Handgun License issued by DPS; United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph; United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph; or United States Passport (book or card).
