HOUSTON – Houston Football racked in three Big 12 Conference weekly awards with Conner Weigman (offensive player), Ethan Sanchez (special teams player) and the offensive line all earning nods from the league after a 31-28 walk-off win against Arizona on Saturday.

Weigman collected his first award from the Big 12 after tallying three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown while also adding a career-high 98 rushing yards and zero interceptions. He was the first Houston quarterback to throw for three scores with an additional on the ground, 95+ rushing yards and zero interceptions since Kevin Kolb in 2003. It marked his second consecutive and fifth career game with both a passing and rushing touchdown.

The Cypress, Texas, native was Houston’s first signal-caller to earn three passing and at least one rushing touchdown since Donovan Smith had four and one, respectively, against West Virginia in 2023.

Sanchez earned his third accolade from the Big 12 after kicking his second game-winning field goal of the year. The field goal was his 15th successful kick of the year, moving him into sole possession of 12th on Houston’s single-season list. He also converted on all four extra-point attempts.

Houston’s offensive line shined against the Wildcats to collect Big 12 Offensive Line of the Week honors. Not allowing a sack for the first time since Oct. 26, 2024 against Utah, the o-line was successful in both the running and passing games. In addition to a 95.7 percent pass block efficiency rate, which ranked third-best in the Big 12, the group paved the way for Houston’s 232 rushing yards which marked a program record in Big 12 play.
