EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Coronado Thunderbirds defeated the Franklin Cougars 52-29 at Coronado High School on Tuesday night.
Coronado moves to 15-7 (4-1 6A). Franklin falls to 17-6 (3-2 6A).
The first half was a low-scoring affair with Coronado leading 17-15 at the break.
The Thunderbirds came out of the half firing, dominating the remainder of the game on both ends of the floor.

This win sees Coronado take sole second place in the District 1 6A standings behind Eastlake.
Franklin drops to a tie for third with Montwood.
On Friday, Coronado will take on Pebble Hills.
Franklin will face Montwood for control of third place.
