Moncrief Cancer Institute, in conjunction with the Texas Christian University (TCU) School of Art, presents “Once Upon A Page,” featuring new work by Kylie Nash and Gretchen Stark.
“Once Upon A Page” bridges the practices of artists Kylie Nash and Gretchen Stark, and revisits the timeless world of fairytales through a contemporary lens. The exhibition offers a playful and thoughtful reimagining of the narratives that have shaped collective memory across generations. Featuring new mixed media works on paper, “Once Upon A Page” explores the power of storytelling by playfully transforming familiar tales such as Rumpelstiltskin, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White.
Nash is an MFA candidate in Studio Art with an emphasis in painting at Texas Christian University and holds a BFA in Studio Art with a painting concentration from Texas State University.
Stark is a Midwest-grown artist from Rockford, Illinois. She earned her BFA in painting and drawing with a minor in K–12 Education from Rockford University in 2021 and is currently pursuing her MFA in painting at Texas Christian University.
