PLANO, Texas — Plano Senior High School is mourning the loss of a student, officials said.

Tripp Harris recently died, according to an email Principal Kennitra Robertson sent to families on Thursday.

More details about Harris and his passing were not released.

“This is a profound loss for our school community, and our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” Robertson wrote. “We understand that news like this can be very upsetting and may bring about a range of emotions for students and staff alike.”

Social Workers and counselors will be available to students and staff who are struggling with this tragic news.
