1. Plano eyes Legacy, Granite Park area master plan amid market changes, major developments

As Plano’s Legacy District starts to reach build-out, city officials are preparing for the area’s next phase of development. The Legacy area is expected to see several major changes over the next few years, including AT&T’s relocation to a new 54-acre campus at the former Ross Perot Electronic Data Systems campus and construction of a $117 million Japanese Miyako Hybrid Hotel.

2. Allen ISD superintendent to retire at the end of 2025-26 school year

Allen ISD Superintendent Robin Bullock is retiring at the end of the 2025-26 school year. In a statement, Bullock said she appreciates the trust placed in her by current and former board members during the last six years. Bullock was hired as an assistant superintendent for Allen ISD in 2013 and was later named superintendent in January 2020.

3. McKinney to purchase 110 acres from MISD for city services, future recreation center

McKinney city officials intend to purchase 110 acres from McKinney ISD with plans to develop a fifth water take point and a new recreation center. Dennis Womack, assistant superintendent of Business Operations, said MISD did not plan to utilize the 110 acres for school facilities.

4. Proposed retail development in Frisco delayed by signage error

A planned retail development at the corner of Main Street and Independence Parkway has been sent back to the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission for further review due to a public notice error. The applicant posted signs on the subject property advertising the proposed zoning change, but the case number on the signs was incorrect, so they did not meet their public notice obligations.
