LOVB Austin Volleyball moved up the first serve of its match against LOVB Houston to 1 p.m. instead of 6:30 p.m. at the Frost Bank Center.

Temperatures are projected to be in the high 30s during the day but will drop to below freezing at night with ice accumulations and winter precipitation. A clear shift in weather is expected Saturday with freezing temperatures coming in from the north. 

It’s not the only game in Central, North or East Texas that’s has its schedule adjusted. 

The defending league champions are preparing to face the last place Houston club searching for its first win of the season. It will also serve as a mini rivalry match since LOVB Austin features many Texas Exes like Madison Skinner and Asjia O’Neal while one of LOVB Houston’s rookies is Logan Lednicky, who won a national championship with Texas A&M. 

Texas A&M men’s basketball announced it will move its home against South Carolina to noon Saturday. Texas A&M women’s basketball has a 5 p.m. game Sunday against Missouri and have yet to announce if the game will be played or not. 

The Austin Independent School District announced Thursday night via a Facebook post that all school travel and activities, including sporting events, were canceled. The post also mentioned that school facilities will be closed Saturday and Sunday, but conditions will be monitored Monday for possible closures or delays.Â
