The San Antonio River Walk is home to a lineup of restaurants and bars that acts as a huge draw for tourists and locals venturing through downtown. A recent addition, Sin Yolanda, comes to the Alamo City from Guadalajara, Mexico, where its first location opened two years ago.

Sin Yolanda doubles as a Mexican restaurant and a cantina, offering signature cocktails and an array of spirits alongside elotitos and other dishes like quesabirria. MySA spoke to Mario Escobar, who is a part of a group of partners behind the concept, which launched in the first week of December 2025. Escobar explained that during the day, the focus is more on the food, and after the sun goes down, it’s party time.

“In the nights, it’s like you’re at a Mexican wedding every day, and that what we like to bring to the people,” Escobar said.

The San Antonio location marks Sin Yolanda’s first foray into Texas and the United States, but it won’t be the last. Escobar shared that there are already plans underway for additional locations in other Texas cities.

“Right now, we are under construction in The Woodlands in Houston. That will be open the last weekend of February. And we are very close on signing a place in Austin, Texas,” Escobar said.

Something unique that Sin Yolanda offers is microphones so customers can sing along to the music playing in the bar, similar to karaoke, except everyone can join in. Sin Yolanda is closed on Monday. Its hours run from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday and Tuesday, and from noon to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
