The Colleyville Fire Department is investigating the cause of a deadly house fire Saturday morning.

COLLEYVILLE, Texas — Two people were found dead after a two-alarm house fire in Colleyville on Saturday morning, officials said.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the Colleyville Fire Department was called to a home in the 3600 block of Sweetbriar Lane. Officials said firefighters arrived to find heavy fire and were told that two people were still inside the house.

Two young adults had already escaped the home with minor injuries, but one of them was later taken to Parkland Hospital for treatment, a person close to the family tells WFAA.

Firefighters continued the search for the two missing residents, while they worked to extinguish the flames. After the fire was brought under control, crews located the two individuals inside the home and confirmed they were dead.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims.

No firefighters were injured, according to officials.
