AUSTIN, Texas — The City of Austin released a statement Saturday evening after rumors reportedly circulated online that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)agents have been staging in Austin inpreparation for operations.
“City officials have been in contact with regional ICErepresentativesand have been assuredthatICEdoes not have operations focused onWarming Center orCold WeatherSheltering facilities,” the statement read.

City officials also stated that any current operations are regular ICE operations and that agents are not coming into Austin from other areas and checking into local hotels.
