East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) – Good morning, East Texas! Our Tuesday is off to a much warmer start this time around in the 60s and 70s thanks to overnight cloud cover and breezy southerly winds. A cold front will push through the area starting this morning which could bring a few showers and an isolated thundershower or two as it makes its way through East Texas. Temperatures won’t trend too warm this afternoon as highs range in the lower 80s. Cooler temperatures return by Wednesday morning with most in the lower 50s before warming into the upper 70s in the afternoon. Some spotty showers will be possible by Thursday, but you’ll want to keep an eye on the forecast for Friday and Saturday. A slow moving upper-level system will bring disruptive weather back to East Texas in the form of showers and some thunderstorms. Timing remains hard to nail down this far out, but current model trends favor later Friday into Friday night and lasting through at least the first half of Saturday. Don’t cancel your outdoor plans at this time, but it wouldn’t hurt to have an indoor backup plan to be safe. A weak cold front clears East Texas late Saturday into early Sunday, with only a few showers possible Sunday afternoon.
