Lady Trojans capture title at Tuloso-Midway meet

The Beeville Lady Trojans delivered a dominant performance Saturday at the Beau Savanich  Memorial Powerlifting Meet at Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway, capturing the team championship behind multiple weight-class titles and consistent podium finishes across the lineup.

Beeville finished first in the team standings with 51 points, pulling away from Corpus Christi London (43) and host Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway (29).

The Lady Trojans were powered by strength in the middle and upper weight classes. Eldonnette Chancellor posted one of the top totals of the meet at 165 pounds, winning the division with a massive 1,030-pound total after lifting 375 pounds in the squat, 305 in the bench press and 350 in the deadlift. Mia Irene Garcia followed with another championship effort at 181 pounds, totaling 1,030 pounds to secure first place in her class.

Beeville also claimed titles at 198 and 242 pounds. Sonia Trevino won the 198-pound division with a 785-pound total, while Abigail Martinez captured first place at 242 pounds with a 1,095-pound total, one of the highest lifts of the meet.

The Lady Trojans added key points with strong depth performances. Anabella Ramirez placed second at 132 pounds with a 750-pound total, and Angel Alvarez finished fourth in the same class. At 148 pounds, Arya Nunez placed fourth, while Emily Villarreal added a ninth-place finish. Isabella Ramirez placed third at 165 pounds to further boost the team score.

Felicity Dominguez earned a second-place finish at 97 pounds.
