DoorDash Activates Severe Weather Protocol in Northwest Texas in Response to Winter Storm Fern

LUBBOCK, Texas (DOORDASH NEWS RELEASE) – DoorDash has activated its Severe Weather Protocol and temporarily suspended operations in Northwest Texas and parts of Oklahoma in response to Winter Storm Fern, which is expected to bring heavy snow and ice to more than 230 million people across 34 states.

Effective Friday, January 23rd at 7:30pm CT, DoorDash has suspended operations in Northwest Texas, including Lubbock, Amarillo, and parts of Oklahoma. Operations will remain suspended until at least 12:00pm CT on Saturday, January 24, 2026, depending upon conditions on the ground.

“Due to hazardous conditions and icy roads brought by this unprecedented winter storm, we’ve activated our Severe Weather Protocol and temporarily suspended operations in Northwest Texas and parts of Oklahoma,” said DoorDash spokesperson Jenn Rosenberg.

“We encourage everyone in affected areas to follow local guidance and take necessary precautions, and we will resume operations as soon as it’s safe to do so.”DoorDash will continue to closely monitor the conditions on the ground, guidance from local officials, and will communicate additional changes to with Dashers, merchants, and customers as needed.
