KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – A fire at a fourplex in Killeen displaced four families, the fire department said.
The blaze erupted late Saturday night in the 3400 block of Victoria Court.
The first unit arrived on scene just over four minutes after the initial dispatch and encountered flames emanating from the chimney and extending into the attic.

All occupants from the four units were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.
Local officials and the American Red Cross assisted with relocating the affected families.
A total of 11 residents and four pets were displaced by the fire. The property owner is working with the families on Sunday to transition them into more permanent housing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“Residents are reminded to use caution with heating sources during winter weather events and to ensure chimneys and fireplaces are properly maintained,” the Killeen Fire Department wrote in a social media post.
