Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough was urging residents to stay off roads as temperatures were dropping Sunday morning.
Conditions across the county include freezing rain and sleet. Some areas were experiencing heavy rain downpours.
“The temps have started falling again and based off last report won’t go above freezing today. Threats of icing on overpasses and bridges with all of this moisture. Our road crews are out treating the roads as is TxDOT. Highly recommended that you avoid traveling on the roads,” Keough said in a Facebook post.
Keough said he would provide more information about the weather and conditions following a briefing with officials at 7 a.m.
