LAS CRUCES, N.M. — UPDATE: All lanes on 1-10 east near Anthony, New Mexico, is re- opened following a commercial vehicle that jackknifed on the roadway.
Difficult driving conditions are impacting the Las Cruces area on Sunday as snow and winter weather continue to affect roadways, according to the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
NMDOT reports that roads throughout the Las Cruces area are slushy, snow-packed, and icy in spots, creating hazardous travel conditions for motorists.
Crews are actively plowing roadways and will continue to monitor conditions as weather impacts persist.
Difficult driving conditions are also reported along Interstate 10, both eastbound and westbound, from mile marker 116 to mile marker 155 near Vado.
In that stretch, roads remain snow-covered and icy in some areas.
Motorists traveling in or near the Las Cruces area are urged to use caution, reduce speeds, and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
NMDOT officials say updates will be provided as conditions change.
