Colorado Springs police saw domestic abuse, a kidnapping and fires last week, among other incidents, with law enforcement making 290 arrests in El Paso County.
From Jan. 18 to Jan. 24, the Colorado Springs Police Department posted 11 blotter entries to its public database of incidents approved for release. Here is a recap of those entries:
On Tuesday, police received a call around 2:45 p.m. for a kidnapping after a Kia was stolen with a 2-year-old boy in the backseat in the 2700 block of King Street. Police quickly collaborated with several departments and viewed surveillance cameras around the area, eventually locating the vehicle, abandoned, with the boy still in his car seat, unharmed. No arrests have been announced.
On Wednesday, Joshua Criswell, 31, was arrested in connection with two bank robberies. The first robbery was on Dec. 13, 2025, when he left a bank in the 1800 block of South Nevada Avenue with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the second on Jan. 3, when he failed to obtain money from the same location before fleeing.
Also on Wednesday, 22-year-old Landon Austin was arrested after being located in a stolen vehicle, then eluding police. After his arrest, police located two storage trailers that were believed to be stolen by Austin, and recovered two stolen ATV’s and two stolen motorcycles, among other stolen property.
On Thursday, a van became fully engulfed in flames after a space heater tipped over while the vehicle was in motion, igniting a fire. The driver was able to exit the vehicle and no injuries were reported. The fire was contained to the van and the vehicle sustained “significant damage.”
On Saturday, just after 3 a.m., police were dispatched to a disturbance involving two adult children who were allegedly assaulting their father. The suspects, Alexandra Guerrero and Manuel Guerrero, were intoxicated, and at the time of arrest, Alexandra Guerrero allegedly kicked and spit on officers. She was taken to the El Paso County jail and Manuel Guerrero was released at the scene after cooperating with police.

On Sunday, Jan. 18, at around 3 a.m., several shots were fired after an “ongoing dispute” that occurred at a downtown bar. Nobody was injured, and police say they have identified all parties involved. No arrests were announced.
Also on Jan. 18, police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2000 block of Whitman Road, where they found a female victim who was allegedly assaulted by Marcus Davis, 41. After several hours of communication, Davis exited the residence and was arrested.
On Monday, police and the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to an explosion in the 2500 block of East Dale Street. They found an outbuilding was engulfed in flames, and evacuated nearby residences. No injuries were reported and no criminal investigation is anticipated.
On Tuesday night, police responded to assist a suicidal subject in the 1800 block of Old Stage Road. The individual had self-inflicted cuts and fled from police when they arrived. Officers eventually located the individual and stopped him from inflicting further harm upon himself. The subject was taken to a hospital for treatment.
On Friday, police issued a crash alert status due to icy road conditions. A crash alert status reminds drivers to use caution, and in the case of non-serious accidents, when no injuries are sustained and no impairments are involved, reports can be submitted online.
On Saturday, a police cruiser and a civilian’s vehicle were backing out of spaces in a parking lot at the same time when they collided. Minor damage to both vehicles was noted to be only cosmetic.
