Police assist sheriff’s department during active weapons disturbance call

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso Police Department said it is assisting the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in response to an active weapons disturbance call on Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Idalia Avenue and Piedras Street.

According to a police statement, the call came in at approximately 2:41 p.m.

As of 5:30 p.m., the scene remained active, per KFOX14/CBS4 crews on the scene.

Police did not release additional details.
