Plano’s State of the City event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, at Robinson Fine Arts Center.

As extreme cold temperatures and impacted travel conditions persist, the City of Plano is sharing important preparedness updates and early voting information for the upcoming Special Election. In addition, Mayor Muns will share his annual address next week. Read on for key details.

Early Voting Closures

Due to inclement weather, all polling locations for the January 31, 2026 Special Election for Council Member, Place 7, are closed through Monday, January 26, 2026. Visit the Collin County Elections Department and Denton County Elections Department websites for continuing updates.

Winter Preparedness Resources

Following last weekend’s winter storm, the National Weather Service has extended an Extreme Cold Warning for the area through Tuesday, January 27, at 9 a.m. The City of Plano’s Winter Preparedness web page includes weather updates; water, power, gas, and home maintenance tips; and links to key resources for reporting power, gas, and water issues. The City also provides a link to download the Plano Convenience Guide to put contact information for a variety of emergency services at your fingertips.

Plano State of the City Event

Plano Mayor John B. Muns will share his annual address at the 2026 State of the City event to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. City department representatives will also be available to meet constituents and answer questions prior to the address, starting at 5:45 p.m. The event will take place at the Robinson Fine Arts Center at 1800 Alma Drive in Plano. This event will also be live-streamed on PlanoTV.org.
