EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The recent cold weather in El Paso, characterized by icy and wet conditions, is causing significant challenges for drivers as potholes rapidly develop throughout the city.

The city of El Paso explained that these potholes can quickly form following weather changes.

Residents are encouraged to report any potholes on city streets by calling 3-1-1 to ensure they are addressed promptly.

City’s full statement:

Potholes can develop quickly following changes in weather, and City crews respond as reports come in. As with all City-maintained roadways, these locations are addressed through our standard pothole repair process, with crews dispatched to assess and make repairs as conditions allow.For clarity, the City is responsible for maintenance on City-owned streets. Areas located on TxDOT roadways, such as I-10 and its ramps, fall under TxDOT’s jurisdiction.Residents are encouraged to report potholes on City streets through 311 so they can be routed and addressed as efficiently as possible.
