Freer PD and Veterans for Child Rescue arrest three men and pursue more suspects in an online operation targeting minors.
FREER, Texas — A coordinated undercover operation by the Freer Police Department in partnership with Veterans for Child Rescue (V4CR) targeted individuals allegedly trying to exploit minors online.

Police said three men have been arrested so far, and investigators have more than 18 arrest warrants pending as evidence continues to be reviewed.
Abelom Birhane Asgedom, 43, of Dallas is charged with online solicitation of a minor — a third‑degree felony — after allegedly traveling to Freer to meet who he believed was a 14‑year‑old girl.
Gerardo Perez, 37, of Corpus Christi is charged with online solicitation of a minor after allegedly going to Freer to meet who he thought was a 16‑year‑old girl.
Robert Canarumo Guaiquirima, 32, a Venezuelan national living in Arlington, allegedly traveled to Freer to meet a person he believed was a 14‑year‑old girl. Police said an immigration detainer has been placed on him, and he’s expected to be transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for processing and possible deportation.
Freer police says additional arrests are expected as investigations continue.
Officials remind parents to monitor children’s phones, social media, gaming systems, and messaging apps, as predators often use unfiltered chat tools to contact minors.
