Water flowing from fountains started to freeze in North Texas on Sunday, January 25, as a winter storm brought snow, ice, and bitterly cold temperatures to the region.
This video was posted by Chadwick Stelzl, who said he shot it in Plano, north of Dallas.
An extreme cold warning was in effect for the region until 9 am Tuesday, with the National Weather Service (NWS) warning of wind chills in the 20s on Monday and “as cold as -5 degrees at times” on Tuesday morning.
There was also the potential for freezing fog on both Monday and Tuesday nights across portions of North and Central Texas, the NWS said. Credit: Chadwick Stelzl via Storyful
