Trash and recycling collection in the city of Allen is cancelled through Jan. 27 due to extreme winter weather, according to the city’s website.
What you need to know
Community Waste Disposal staff will continue to monitor the situation and share a recovery plan once operations can resume safely, the city’s website states. Residents are advised to leave items out until service is completed.
For updates, Allen residents can sign up for email alerts about trash collection delays on the CWD website.
The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex has been under an Extreme Cold Warning since Jan. 25, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind chills will be as cold as -5 degrees, with forecast low temperatures ranging from 7 to 16 degrees Tuesday morning, per NWS.
