1. Winter Storm Fern continues to hamper flights at Dallas Love Field, DFW Airport
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport leads the United States in canceled flights as of 10:08 a.m. Jan. 26.
According to Flightaware.com, 349 flights were scheduled to land at DFW Airport, and another 276 were slated to depart from DFW Airport, but were canceled. The number of canceled flights into a destination is the most of any airport in the country, and the combined total is ahead of Boston’s Logan Airport by more than 100 flights.
Dallas Love Field Airport has 37 cancellations into Dallas, and 44 flights out of Dallas have been called off.
Project: The road has been closed due to reconstruction of the street and replacing water and sewer lines from Hickory Street to Congress Street.
Update: Gas line work from Atmos has delayed the city’s construction on Denton Street. This delay is currently estimated to last until mid-March, with roadway reconstruction to follow.

Project: FM 407 in Argyle will be widened from two lanes to six lanes between Bill Cook Road and FM 1830. The project will include pedestrian and bike accommodations.
Update: A draft environmental assessment is available for public view and a virtual meeting will be held Jan. 29 to discuss the proposed project online.

Project: The street is receiving utility installations and pavement replacement along with the replacement of pavement, curb, gutter, and any sidewalks from Crescent Street to Panhandle Street.
Update: Water main and sewer lateral installation continue on Alice Street with tie-ins scheduled for the beginning of February. The estimated completion date for the utility installation is Jan. 30, not the original Jan. 9 completion date.

Project: Town staff have identified several areas along Lakeside Parkway where the concrete road panels require replacement. Work will be done on this project prior to a planned widening of the road from four to six lanes.
Update: Work is expected to begin on the road around the end of January. Council members approved funding for the project in November.
