LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech volleyball announced the hiring of new assistant coach Norene Iosia on Monday.

Iosia spent three seasons with Nevada as an assistant coach after a strong playing career at Hawaii and then the pro level. She was a setter/outside hitter for Hawaii and finished her career there ranked ninth in career assists (3,148), eighth in career digs (1,175) and tied for second in service aces (139).

Iosia earned Big West Player of the Year honors, was first team all-conference all four years and an AVCA All-American honorable mention in 2019.

After college, Iosia went overseas and played professional in Greece, Hungary and Switzerland.

“Our goal was to find an offensive minded coach to take the lead with our setters and Norene is going to be great in this role,” said Tony Graystone. “There was a tremendous amount of interest in this position, but it quickly became clear that Norene would be a terrific fit with the team and coaching staff and I’m very excited for her to get started.”
