EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 35-year-old man was arrested after stealing and selling multiple vehicles last week in far East El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).
Javier Navarro, 35, was charged with theft of a vehicle and theft by fraud, with bonds set at $5,000 for each charge.

On Friday, Jan. 23, deputies responded to the 3600 block of Augusta regarding a report of stolen vehicles.
According to the investigation, a suspect, later identified as Navarro, unlawfully entered a gated property, falsely claimed ownership of multiple vehicles, and sold them without authorization, according to EPCSO.
Two victims were identified, including the rightful owner of 10 vehicles valued at approximately $26,000 and a second victim who was scammed out of about $1,600.
During the investigation, Navarro contacted the second victim, requesting additional payment. Investigators arranged a meeting near Zaragoza Road and North Loop Drive, where Navarro was taken into custody.
In addition, six vehicles were recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
