While George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb starred in the Cowboys’ offense in 2025, a second-year player emerged as a solid WR3.
Ryan Flournoy became one of Dak Prescott’s top targets, posting 40 catches for 475 yards and four receiving touchdowns. The productive campaign was enough for NFL.com’s Kevin Patra to name Flournoy as Dallas’ unsung hero.
Patra described Flournoy as a “legit third receiver,” while offering glowing praise for what Dallas’ receiving group could look like in 2026.
“As a beneficiary of the defensive attention paid to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens , Flournoy thrived, generating 0.09 EPA per route, 11th-best among all receivers with at least 200 routes run. His 0.45 EPA per target finished second on the Cowboys, behind only Pickens,” Patra wrote. “Assuming Jerry Jones finds a way to retain Pickens, Dallas will enter 2026 with an excellent trio as the team looks to return to prominence.”

The Cowboys originally selected Flournoy in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft. He appeared in 11 games as a rookie, but was cut in August 2025 as he prepared for his second year in the league.
Flournoy ultimately returned to Dallas’ practice squad and signed to the active roster in September. That move was beneficial for both the Cowboys and the young receiver.
