The winter storm’s effects extended into yet another day in Dallas-Fort Worth on Tuesday, and some stores are still adjusting their hours — but the impact appeared to be diminishing slowly.

Kroger is trimming operating hours, with stores set to be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday — but that’s after being set to close at 8 p.m. on Monday, according to a John Votava, a spokesman for the company.

H-E-B is opening its namesake stores at 8 a.m. in North Texas, later than the usual 6 a.m., on Tuesday, according to a post on its website. Joe V’s Smart Shop is opening later as well, at 8 a.m. The retail sites shut earlier than usual on Monday.

Still, Central Market stores are operating on regular hours.

The wintry blast that’s closed down some businesses or limited hours around the region could lose some of its punch as the week rolls on.

Many streets are still covered with ice and snow, but daytime temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 39 degrees, although a slight breeze will make it feel cooler, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.

At about 7:30 a.m., more than a half dozen Walmart retail sites were listed as closed on its website — after more than 60 were shuttered at time during the cold freeze. That includes some supercenters.
