El Paso families are invited to join a first of its kind festival that promises to grow every year: The Krystall Poppin for a Purpose: Parade & Fest.
What began as a citywide honor is now turning into a full-blown community celebration with heart. After the City of El Paso officially proclaimed January 27th as Krystall Poppin Day, the El Paso–born artist is keeping the love going by inviting the entire city to come together for a day of culture, connection, and giving back.

Instead of letting the recognition stop at a proclamation, Krystall is putting purpose behind the praise with Krystall Poppin for a Purpose: Parade & Fest, a neighborhood-centered fundraiser benefiting Our Lady of Assumption Church. All proceeds will go toward repairs for the church’s gym and hall. All spaces that have served generations of local families.

Krystall Poppin For a Purpose Parade

The celebration kicks off on Saturday, January 31, with a community parade at 10 a.m. beginning near Grandview Park and making its way through the surrounding neighborhood before ending at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Residents are encouraged to bring chairs, line the route, and show support as the parade rolls through.

 Abuelita Beauty Contest, Food, Music and More

From there, the energy continues with a bazaar-style festival from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 4805 Byron Street. The festival will feature live music, food, local vendors, and a custom show-and-shine car show. I am so excited and honored to be the official MC for the festival! 

Car show participants can pre-register with a $40 entry donation by texting 915-999-1423 or registering in person at Pumping Ink Tattoo.

The festival will also feature an Abuelita Beauty contest which will give the abuelita’s of El Paso a chance to show off their beauty for a chance at winning some fun prizes including relaxing spa days and more! Contestants are encouraged to sign up before the day of the event by calling 915-539-4747.
