EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 78-year-old man died after a crash in northeast El Paso on Monday night.
The man who died was identified as 78-year-old William Beschle of Chaparral, New Mexico.
The incident happened at 5:35 p.m. at 13158 Martin Luther King.
The collision involved a 2016 Hyundai Tucson driven by 78-year-old William Beschle and a 2020 Ford F-350 driven.
Both drivers were traveling northbound on Martin Luther King when Beschle attempted to make a right turn onto Stan Roberts from a mandatory left-turn-only lane.
The 2020 Ford F-350, which was in the center lane, struck the right-rear corner of Beschle’s vehicle.
Beschle was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and later died.
Police identified Beschle’s improper right-hand turn as a contributing factor in the collision.
This marks the third traffic fatality in El Paso this year, matching the number of fatalities at this time last year.
