LUBBOCK, Texas (January 27, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University announced the Spring 2026 portion of its men’s and women’s golf schedules, completing the 2025–26 competitive slate as both programs prepare to build on historic fall performances under head coach Jeff Maciejewski.
Â
The spring schedule features a combined 12 tournaments across five states, culminating with the Lone Star Conference Championships in April at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club. The women’s team will compete in six events beginning Feb. 2 in Spicewood, Texas, while the men’s program opens spring play Feb. 16 in San Antonio.
Â
The LCU women’s golf team returns to action at the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational on Feb. 2–3 at Lakecliff Golf Club in Spicewood before traveling to San Antonio for the Rattler Invitational on Feb. 23–24 at Dominion Country Club. The Lady Chaps will then head to Arkansas for the Hardscrabble Invitational (March 23–24) in Fort Smith, followed by a return to Arizona for the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear on April 3–4. The regular season concludes April 6–7 at the WTAMU Desert Invitational in Tucson before postseason play begins at the Lone Star Conference Women’s Golf Championships on April 13–14 in Rockwall.
Â
The women’s program enters the spring with momentum after posting three top-10 finishes during the fall portion of the schedule. LCU finished fourth at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona, sixth at the Midwestern State Invitational in Wichita Falls and ninth at the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational in Amarillo. The fourth-place finish in Arizona was highlighted by a second-round score of 296 (+8), the third-lowest single-round total in program history, while the team’s 36-hole score of 597 marked the third-lowest tournament total ever recorded by the program.
Â
The LCU men’s team opens its spring schedule Feb. 16–17 at the Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, followed by the RJGA Stockton Invitational in California on Feb. 23–24. March play includes the Oak Tree Invitational in Edmond, Oklahoma (March 16–17), the Midwestern State Invitational in Wichita Falls (March 23–24) and The Sam Proal in Pueblo, Colorado (March 30–31). The season concludes with the Lone Star Conference Men’s Golf Championships on April 20–21 in Rockwall.
Â
The Chaparrals enjoyed a standout fall season, recording two top-10 finishes, including a tie for fifth at the San Juan Intercollegiate in Montrose, Colorado, and a ninth-place showing at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya in Akumal, Mexico — the program’s first-ever international competition. At the San Juan Intercollegiate, LCU set a program record with a 54-hole team score of 844 (-8), highlighted by a 274 (-10) opening round, the second-lowest team round in program history.
Â
Senior Hayden Bowman led the charge in Colorado with a historic performance, firing a program-record 62 (-9) in the opening round to shatter the school’s single-round scoring mark. Bowman went on to finish runner-up individually at 199 (-14), setting a new LCU 54-hole scoring record and earning his second career top-three finish.
Â
With a spring slate that features championship-caliber fields and familiar postseason venues, Maciejewski believes both squads are positioned to continue the upward trajectory established during the fall.
Â
If either LCU squad advances beyond conference play, postseason competition continues at NCAA regional championships in early May. The Chaparrals would compete at the NCAA Division II South Central/West Region Championship, scheduled for May 7–9 at Stockton Country Club in Stockton, California, while the Lady Chaps would head to the NCAA Division II West Regional, set for May 4–6 at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado.
